Store requirements · verified 2026-09-12

Every App Store and Google Play screenshot size.

Every row the two stores publish is here, with the devices it covers and what the store says it requires — and 9 of them are sizes this tool renders and re-reads before it lets you download. Those carry a link to their own page, generated from the same file the pre-flight validates against, so a size we say we check is a size we check.

App Store

Apple asks for the largest display of each family your app runs on; every smaller class is scaled from it unless you upload it.

  • Mac

    Not rendered

    Every Mac

    • 1280×800 landscape
    • 1440×900 landscape
    • 2560×1600 landscape
    • 2880×1800 landscape

    Required for Mac apps.

Why we do not render it: A Mac screenshot is a window on a desktop, not a device in a frame. Nothing in the editor would draw it honestly.

  • Apple TV

    Not rendered

    Apple TV

    • 1920×1080 landscape
    • 3840×2160 landscape

    Required for Apple TV apps.

Why we do not render it: Landscape only, and a niche an indie rarely ships. Landscape layouts come first.

  • Apple Vision Pro

    Not rendered

    Apple Vision Pro

    • 3840×2160 landscape

Required for Apple Vision Pro apps.

Why we do not render it: Landscape only, and a niche an indie rarely ships. Landscape layouts come first.

  • Apple Watch

    Not rendered

    Ultra 4, Ultra 3 · Ultra 2, Ultra · Series 12, 11, 10 · Series 9, 8, 7 · Series 6, 5, 4, SE 3, SE 2, SE · Series 3, 2, 1

    • 416×496 Series 12, 11, 10
    • 396×484 Series 9, 8, 7
    • 368×448 Series 6, 5, 4, SE 3, SE 2, SE
    • 312×390 Series 3, 2, 1

Required for Apple Watch apps. The same size has to be used across every localization.

Why we do not render it: Apple asks for the watch screen with no added frame or marketing text, which is the whole of what this editor draws.

Google Play

Play checks the shorter and longer side and the ratio between them, and gives large screens their own range.

  • Phone

    We render this

    Every Android phone

At least two screenshots are needed to publish, counted across device types; eight per type is the maximum. Every side from 320 px to 3840 px, long side no more than twice the short one. Four at 1080 px or more, in 16:9 or 9:16, is what Google recommends.

  • Tablet, foldable and Chromebook

    We render this

Android tablets (7-inch and 10-inch) · Foldables, unfolded · Chromebooks

Every side from 1080 px to 7680 px, in 16:9 landscape or 9:16 portrait. Four screenshots minimum for large-screen promotion, eight maximum per device type.

  • Feature graphic

    We render this

    Every Play Store surface

Required to publish. JPEG or 24-bit PNG, no alpha.

  • App icon

    We render this

    Every Play Store surface

Required to publish. 32-bit PNG with alpha, up to 1024 KB.

Launch kit

Not a store requirement. The other shapes launch day asks for, rendered from the same set.

What we deliberately do not do

Wear OS
Google asks for the raw watch screen: no device frame, no added text.
Android TV, Android Auto and Android XR
Landscape-only niches an indie rarely ships. Landscape layouts come first.
App preview videos
Apple takes a video file and Play only takes a YouTube URL. Neither is an image this editor could render.
